It's kind of a funny story about how I became a DJ. I haven’t given it a thought until I was asked by my youth minister one day if I could help out with an upcoming dance by supplying the sound and music. I was a little nervous at first, but I took the offer. I had to ask my parents if they would let me use their old school Boston Acoustic stereo system with the throwback woodgrain printed speaker boxes, and a single deck cd player that took FOR-EV-ER to change tracks, but surprisingly enough, they said okay. So, a kid at 13, off to do his first gig ever, somewhat on the shy side not knowing anything about music, and completely oblivious to Audio/Visual gear LOL. After that first gig I was hooked and eager to learn about all of the “behind the scenes tech” on how sound and lighting worked, as well as how other successful DJ’s knew what to play and when to play it. Threw the years I’ve been fortunate enough to have opportunity’s to work many types of events with a verity of age, cultural, and regional backgrounds, one thing I’ve learned is how broad music selection can be, and how important it was to know the difference. It didn't take long until I became the neighborhood DJ, the high school DJ, then onto doing bigger events as well as working the bar/club scene as I got older. Aiming for excellence and making accommodations for improvements has always been my motto. It's been a privilege to be on this journey, and an honor to have been a part of so many peoples lives on such special occasions. I'm proud to say that I've been doing this for over 25 years, and I still love it.
